We’ve got some HUGE news that’s going to make winter so much more fun – we’re replacing our 47-year-old Lift 3 with a shiny two-person chairlift!
Out with the Old, In with the Awesome
While we’re definitely going to miss our historic surface lift (it had character!), we know many of you found it tricky to navigate, especially our snowboarding friends and newer skiers. Plus, we needed a lot of snow coverage just to get it running, which meant some of our best terrain stayed off-limits longer than we’d like.
What This Means for YOU
Here’s where it gets exciting – this new chairlift is going to unlock some of our absolute best beginner and intermediate terrain and make it easier for you to access
We’re talking about:
- Brandy and Candy runs – those super fun, beginner-friendly trails you’ve been wanting to try
- Half of our terrain parks – get ready to session those features way more easily
- All that gorgeous upper mountain terrain that’s perfect for building confidence
This is Just the Beginning
We’re not stopping here! This is part of a $1+ million investment in a bigger vision for the Lift 3 area. Coming up in future years, we’re planning:
- A sweet new skier services deck with expanded patio (mountain lunches with a view, anyone?)
- More restroom facilities (parents, you’re welcome!)
- Burying our snowmaking infrastructure
Basically, you’ll be able to spend your whole day on the upper mountain without having to head back to base – perfect for families and anyone who just wants to maximize their mountain time.

Since Mountain Capital Partners took over in 2001, we’ve invested over $6.6 million in making Sipapu better for you. This new chairlift joins our growing family of lifts that already includes two conveyor lifts and our triple and quad chairs.
