February Fun Fest Event Schedule

Our FREE February Fun Fest Weekend celebration includes a giant snow castle and mountain-wide scavenger hunt, with heaps of fantastic prizes and more fun than you can shake a ski pole at. Costumes highly encouraged!

Schedule of Events:
Saturday, February 25
9 AM Snow Castle Opens
9 AM Yeti Scavenger Hunt all over the mountain – find a plush yeti and it’s yours to keep
9 AM CLOWN Treasure Hunt – Find the laminated letters CLOWN in the base area, turn them in at the reservations office for a prize
10 AM-Noon Kid’s Games begin at the base of the snow castle. Games include coin toss, snowboard worm race, facepainting, just for fun ski and snowboard races, and more!

Sunday, February 26
9 AM Snow Castle Opens
9 AM Yeti Scavenger Hunt all over the mountain – find a plush yeti and it’s yours to keep
9 AM CLOWN Treasure Hunt – Pick up scavenger hunt clues in the store, find the laminated letters CLOWN in the base area, turn them in at the reservations office for a prize

Snow Castle (Saturday-Sunday)
Time: Opens at 9 a.m.

Every year, a giant snow castle is built by the mountain team at Sipapu.  It’s a snow playground for all ages and the only one in New Mexico! Each year, the snow castle changes in design, but what remains constant is the sheer size, which is usually 2-3 stories tall, the unique creation of stairs, slides, flags, and plenty of places to play in the snow!  The building of the snow castle begins the week before fun fest, and the castle stays up until Spring Break. The snow castle opens at 9 am on Saturday, Feb. 25 and is open for all to explore and enjoy.

All Day Yeti Scavenger Hunt (Saturday)
Find the Yeti plush animals hanging all over the mountain. Find one and it’s yours to keep! 

Costumes Encouraged!
Wear your favorite costume and join the fun

Kids’ Games 10 AM Saturday, February 25
Penny Toss (Saturday)
Kids can participate in a coin toss! Changewill be thrown on the snow for kids to grab, but there is a catch! Every kid must be wearing their gloves or mittens. This event is fun for kids to participate in and hilarious for parents to watch!

Snowboard Worm Race (Saturday)Time: 10:20
Snowboarders this event is for you! Race on your tummies to the finish line for a great Sipapu prize!

Treasure Hunt (Saturday-Sunday)
Time: 9 a.m.—4 p.m.
Sipapu hosts a fun Treasure Hunt, which is part scavenger hunt and all adventure!  Search the base area departments Saturday and Sunday for prizes!

Ski and Snowboard Race (Saturday)
A just-for-fun race down Lower Bambi off Lift 2
