Fresh Snow, Fresh Start: Sipapu’s New Snowmaking Pump is Ready to Roll!
We’ve got exciting news to share! As many of you know, the Calf Canyon/Hermit’s Peak fire brought unexpected challenges to our mountain community. Ash and debris from the fire damaged much of our snowmaking equipment, including two essential pumps, which meant limited snowmaking capabilities during parts of last season.
But here’s the good news – we’re bouncing back stronger than ever! We’ve invested more than $100,000 into the snowmaking system. We installed a brand-new snowmaking pump last week, joining the replacement pump we added late last season. This powerful upgrade means we can deliver water more efficiently and with greater force, setting us up for fantastic snow conditions all winter long.
Our snowmaking crew is already hard at work testing snow guns across the mountain and fine-tuning everything for when Mother Nature gives us the green light. Soon We’ll be ready to welcome you back to the slopes for another season of affordable, family-friendly skiing in the heart of Northern New Mexico.
