Sipapu Ski Resort hosts its annual Presidents’ Day weekend celebration, February Fun Fest this weekend, February 15-17. Sipapu’s most popular family event includes a giant snow castle, costume contest and parade, mountain-wide treasure hunt, games, prizes and more, all for free.
Sipapu Snow Castle
Every year, Sipapu’s mountain ops team constructs a giant snow castle. This snow playground for all ages is the only one in New Mexico. Each year, the snow castle changes in design. The massive castle, usually two to three stories tall, includes a unique creation of stairs, slides, flags, and plenty of places to play in the snow. The building of the snow castle began Saturday, Feb. 8 and will last throughout the week until Feb. 15. The snow castle opens at 9 am on Saturday, Feb. 15 and is open for all to explore and enjoy.
Treasure Hunt
During Fun Fest, Sipapu hosts a fun Treasure Hunt, part scavenger hunt and all adventure. Sipapu invites children to search the mountain Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm for laminated letters. When the letters gathered spell CLOWN, children can return them to Ski School for a prize.
Costume Contest
February Fun Fest highlights a circus theme, and guests are invited to dress as clowns, or as crazy as they’d like to participate in a costume contest. Sipapu will have prizes awarded for the best costumes on the mountain.

Santa Fe Brewing Happy Hops Hunt
Guests 21 and older can partake in the Santa Fe Brewing Happy Hops Hunt on Saturday, Feb. 15. It’s a mountain-wide scavenger hunt in search of Santa Fe Brewing cans stuffed with prizes. Guests may watch Sipapu’s Facebook and Instagram pages the day of the event for tips and clues to find the hidden cans to redeem for prizes in the base area. For more information, visit Sipapu.ski.

In a world of online dating, Love of the Lift offers the opportunity for singles to connect in person on a ski lift. Lift 1 features two lift lines for singles who can pair up on the lift and see if a connection is made.
Feb. 23 Lloyd Bolander Pine Cup Fun Race
The Lloyd Bolander Memorial Pine Cup Race is on February 23rd! This best of two runs, this giant slalom fun race is open to skiers and snowboarders.
